Jul 30, AM. I just finished Alys, Always by Harriet Martin and have some ambicalent feelings. On the one Hand I thought the writing was beautiful but the plot did little for me and it had a rather predictable ending. Hi just finished and I enjoyed parts of it but found the overall story a little predictable. I have a better understanding of Greek modern history now though. Jul 31, PM. Aug 03, AM.

It's a distilled work of wonderful insight, humour and heartbreak with some of the finest writing I have read in this or any year. The story is really about a royal family, friendship, sisters, expectations, and falling in love. But overall, I loved this.
